Make "today" date more visible on the calendar. Add contrast or make it bigger, more visible.
It is hard to choose due today to the same date as the date you create the task, because the calendar lacks contrast of the today date.

Add option to repeating tasks due date to avoid weekends, holidays, i.e. workdays
if due date is on a weekend, I must submit my status report on the last workday before then.

Filter not just by an exact contact but if the task has a contact
I sometimes want to know if there is something that I need to do with a group of people. I would like to filter tasks that have a contact. That way I can have a work or church Folder. When I am at work or church I can have a filter that shows me things that I need to do with people at that location.

allow filtering and sorting based on number of tags used
Our by number of goals, if multiple goal feature added. All things being equal, I'd prefer to complete the task that serves the most goals

Add in widget information about days left to the due date.
Would be nice if on a widget screen, for example on the right side, I could see the information about how much time, or how many days left to certain event.

Let the user decide which functions are visible as buttons on the navigation bar
Different users have different user behavior. For example I don't use the sort button very often but I need the sync button frequently.
Let the user decide which button is visible prominently on the Ultimate To-Do List's navigation bar. Maybe it's enough to have one or two cusomizable buttons.

Make date choices Mon, Tues, Wed, ..., 1 Week, etc., more pleasing. The graphics are ugly using the new Dark Theme. Looked good before.
The graphics ffor "pre-fab" date picker choices look ugly in the Dark Theme compared to the previous version of UTL (v2.x). At least let us have a "classic look" dark theme if we don't like the new look of UTL.

Move the checkbox in full-screen views back to the right side of the screen
Previous versions displayed the checkbox in full-screen views at the right side of the screen. This was very useful in one-handed mode (e.g. when walking through the supermarket).
Version 3 displays the checkbox on the left of the screen.

Missed reminders when phone is off to appear once phone is turned on
If you have set a reminder and your phone was turned of when the reminder occurred, once you turn your phone on that reminder appears again

Ability to show and/or sort on times along with date fields
Ability to show/sort the time something was created, modified, or completed. It would be nice to be able to sort on the times tasks are created, modified, and completed. Additionally if a task was due today at 2pm, the task wouldn't show until 2pm.

Really quick change of VIEW, ADD TASK and STARTUP SCREEN for WIDGET
Below solution covers most of raised ideas for widget usage.
Below philosophy is both the most flexible and really quick and comfortable for user I can image. It uses existing powerful filters/views/(and templates - that developers work on) for quickest selection.
It gives both minimum clicks/touches and maximum flexibility = ultimate usability.VIEW CHANGE:
1a. User in widget settings checks [v] views he wants for the widget
1b. Widget has button "change view" that displays list of selected views to switch between quickly.

add an option to sort tasks by folders according to Toodledo order
In Toodledo folders can be ordered manually or alphabetically. The same order is shown in Ultimate To-Do List when looking at the Folder 'directory'. When sorting tasks by folder the current options are to sort A-Z or Z-A. Having the additional option to sort by folders according to Toodledo's order would allow to use the folder order as prioritisation when using folders for projects.

better use of screen space in edit view
I frequently change the setting for opening the editor vs viewer when tapping on a task, because neither is really ideal and I can't quite decide which is the least worst option! What I really want to be able to do is to go straight to editing mode, but to be able to see all or most of the fields on my screen at a glance without scrolling. At the moment the editor makes very poor use of screen space; on my large screen I could easily fit the whole task with plenty of space for tapping accurately on fields.

Ability to bottom justify navigation pane
When operating your phone with one hand, the fact that the navigation pane is top justified means that you need to stretch your thumb quite a bit to reach some of the options. It would be helpful to have the option to bottom justify the contents so that the menus are easier to reach.

Show total time for tasks with sub-tasks
Tasks with sub-tasks should show the sum of their sub-tasks' expected and actual time spent. This would make the software usable for project planning and tracking. It is also what most users would expect, I guess. (see also the related request "Length - show total (sum) for a view or a folder")

Allow users to embed & launch the application necessary to complete the to-do from the to-do. Like camera or Twitter or SHealth.
When creating to-do, I would like to be able to launch other apps directly from to-do list similar to how I can go to a contact now directly from a to do now. Say the task is to check my heart rate. I could get an alert and instead of fumbling through my home screen and app drawer looking for the heart rate monitoring app, I could have associated the app with the to-do when I created the to-do and go to the app directly from the reminder with one click.
