Example: folder - Community Service; sub-folders - Red Cross Volunteer, CERT trainer, etc.

Definitely a huge benefit to have tiers and parents instead of a very long list of unconnected folders.

Yes, this would be a valuable addition to the application, Regardless of your use (I have my few) I would like to be able to use multiple folders for organizational purposes.

Being able to nest folders would a great way for a mobile user to organize and maximize space. For instance, for I have a folder for major work areas, and would love to be able to have subfolders to group active projects and incactive projects. Currently, I have 30 small projects listed in a work folder; it would be nice to be able to hide the inactive projects in an inactive nested folder to clear up the clutter they cause, while being able to keep them in the work area to which they are attributed.

I think of a folder as a special type of project task (ie a parent task.) You can use a hierachy of tasks to do what you need.
