The 'Status' drop-down begins at 'Active' whereas 'Priority' begins at 'None'? Can all drop-downs begin at 'None'?

Or make it a setting under Miscellaneous? Reason being, I use Status to categorize/sort tasks into today (Next Action) and someday (Active) and requires driving (None). I have to scroll down the drop-down EVERY time I want to escalate the status, but not when escalating the priority.
