Automatically open the keyboard when entering a new task
Now, when I press the new task icon, I get a popup to enter the title of the task but first I need to touch the input field for the keyboard to appear (= one unnecessary click every time).
This has been implemented in version 1.9 of the smartphone edition, and will be available for the tablet edition in a few days.

My Galaxy Nexus has the same issue both with the stock ICS/JB keyboards or with swiftkey when I hit the widget (works fine in app). Dev mentioned that it is due to inconsistent implementation by the device manufacturers... Agree it's pretty annoyong, would love a fix!

I do not use a widget for this app. This behavior is happening when I open the app and then select the new task button. I have an HTC Evo 4G running Android 2.3.5. I'm also using SwiftKey X version 2.2.0.159. This same behavior also happens when I try to edit the title of an existing task.

The new task button within the app does the right thing, but the wrong behavior described above occurs when you use the new task widget from your home screen.

Onie Peak: You're right! Surely that means it would be an extremely simple, logical modification to make.
DEV this is an easy win! Please implement.

I totally agree that it is definitely one unnecessary step! It's interesting that it works this way because when you choose to add a "note" it actually brings up the keyboard.
