Totally agree. The big advantage of UTD is the degree to which we can customize views: choosing and sorting tasks as necessary. The big disadvantage as it stands is that it's so relatively difficult to GET to those views. Anything that can be done to reduce the number of taps, ie. customizing the home page, will be welcome!

I came here to suggest the exact same thing!
Having a customizable home screen would be a great feature, because as it is now it's a bit confusing and crowed with too many categories. Of course you can always use "My views" as a welcome screen, but it doesn't offer the same flexibility (for example if you want to have all your folders on my views you have to add them manually everytime you create a folder). It's great that the app has so many customization options, but you should be able to simplify the interface to only see what you need.
The natural solution to this would be to simply "merge" the home screen with the My views configuration system.

Please combine this item with "Ability to remove items from home page" and
"Ability to adjust order of items on the home page". That will move these items to the top of the list!
