Add a calendar item to indicate overdue to-dos exist
Ideally a single calendar item would give information on a list of overdue to-dos; if each to do gave a calendar item, this could easily overwhelm agenda calendar views. This calendar item would be updated so that it is always linked with the current day.

Able to set "out-of-bounds" hours for reminders
After setting the "out-of-bounds" timings, during task creation software either blocks the setting of reminders to go off during those hours, or gives a warning prompt that reminder had been set during out of bounds hours

I would like to see an icon or a label that shows on the home screen if there is a filter being applied.
I was creating different views and trying to check them against my overall task count. I spent 20 minutes trying to get the filter working and name it and then put it on the home screen. I was about to submit a bug report when I finally figured out there was another un-named filter being applied.

Enable calendar entries to be created that are cut off from the app. Simplify and reduce the number of steps to create a calendar entry.

Alphabetical sort of titles does not match Toodledo for [ ] ^ _ and '
In Toodledo the symbols:
[ ] ^ _ '
are sorted after the alphabet (AaBbCcDd ... XxYyZz)
But in the Ultimate To-Do List, these same symbols, when all tasks are sorted alphabetically, show up after the @ symbol but before the alphabet.
Examples:
Toodledo alpha-sort:

Any training documentation or better yet, a video to reduce learning curve?
So few articles & videos compared to other apps..... makes it hard to determine if this is worth perusing...other than your comparison list.
Been disappointed soooo many times re todo apps.

improve time interface
instead of adjusting the time for a task only by pressing + or - I would like to be able to scroll. check out the sbb app (swiss railway company) which allows both options: scrolling and direct entry by double tapping in fact for both time and date. smooth.. :)

I put a start date of 1976 on one task. It looks perfect on UTDL, but on Toodledo it's 2076. Sync problem or Toodledo?

possibility to link tasks to folders or files on the android
A lot of tasks involve handling files on my android-device. So it would be great if e.g. I could follow a link in the task which brings me directly to the folder which keeps the files that have to do with the task.

From viewing a task I want to access a list of all other tasks in the folder
Currently, from viewing a task, you can view the parent task and from there view the (other) subtasks. ie siblings. However, you can't do the same for folders. As toodledo only support 2 levels of task, many people use folders as a "project folder " for parent tasks. I found myself often creating a parent task with the same name as the folder to facilitate this sort of navigation in your app..

Make it more like Psion Todo
The Psion 5mx todo feature almost perfect:
Due date
Warning date
Alarm that got louder but less frequent until snoozed or turned off
No limit on how long warning was before due date
Warning relative to due date
alarm relative to due date or warning date

Allow Due Date to be past/before Start Date as allowed by Toodledo.
This allows the importance/priority of a task to advance on a list of tasks.

When an alarm goes off, display the name of the task! Instead of a blank screen.
And, the alarm should continue to sound for a long time, perhaps a minute, unless dismissed or snoozed. In other words, like an actual alarm! If the alarm is not dismissed or snoozed, it should automatically sound again in x minutes (configurable).
1 voteI assume this request is to allow the task name to pop up on the screen – regardless of what app the user is in – in addition to being placed in the notification bar.
Note that the app already has an option to sound the alarm again if it is not dismissed or snoozed. When creating or editing a task, select an alarm time and then choose the “nagging” option.

when selecting text, copy cut paste buttons are invisible
I can access the functions but the icons for select all, cut, copy, paste are invisible.
1 voteThere is a known bug in the Galaxy S4 in which Samsung’s software (which implements the cut, copy, and paste buttons) does not obey the command from our app to apply a change in theme. The issue occurs when you change the theme from dark to light. If you keep the app in the dark theme, the problem does not occur.
Even though the bug is on Samsung’s side, we will be attempting a fix for the next major release.

Ability to let sub-tasks inherit attributes from parent
I miss the ability to let sub-tasks inherit attributes from the parent task. Especcially the Start and Duedate fields, + the repeat pattern. This is possible in Toodledo, but i cannot find a way to do it in UTL.
Currently it is often to much of a hassle to add sub-tasks.1 vote -

1 voteJust to confirm, are you saying that you are seeing black text on a black background? If so, can you provide an example of what steps you need to take to reproduce the problem? Also, what specific device do you have?
Sometimes, manufacturers modify Android in a way that prevents our app from applying the theme to all of the text and backgrounds, resulting in black on black or white on white text. We then have to write a workaround for that specific device.
As a quick fix, changing the app’s theme may clear up the problem. You can find the theme in the settings area.
